How to Crop in Adobe Lightroom

August 29, 2006 – 1:14 pm | by J. Rodriguez

Ever since the release of Adobe Lightroom for Windows users have been release I have been receiving emails on how to crop pictures. Many other website’s provide information but I can’t see any step-by-step tips on cropping. Well, lets see if this will help you needs guys/gals. This is how I usually publish my crops after working with my photo’s on ALR.

First you’ll need to open your image in LR “naturally”. On the top right you click on “DEVELOPE” and you will be taken to ADL’s editing section. Select the Crop Tool (located at bottom left) and make your adjustments.

You may notice that unlike Photoshop you cannot “double click” to finalize your crop.
Once you’ve adjusted your crop, make your color corrections/adjustments and jump on to the next image. repeat the steps until your done with all the images you’ve wanted to fix.

Next we want to go and select all the images we’ve edited/adjusted. Don’t worry, if you left the crop tool in place you will see all your work after we export.

Now, here comes the fun part. After you’ve made your adjustments with crops and color corrections we want to go back to the library (located on top right). Once your back into the library area where all your images are store, you will see the images you have worked on. By holding down your control key and clicking on all the images you’ve worked on will help you with the final steps. Now, lets finish off this last step. After selecting all your images go to >> Edit >> Export and choose where you want to store your images. Before clicking the export button to finish off the step, make sure that you adjust the resolution (if your sharing online or printing) and the size. >> Next you click on export and your done. Now, that wasn’t so hard was it. Now, pass the word along to the others and share your photo’s with your friends and family.

Thanks for stopping by :)
