AdBrite Makes Interesting Video Product

Sunday, January 7th, 2007

The new product is called In Video. Adbrite has created an embeddable video player similar to YouTube, Photobucket, etc.  Anyone who takes the content and embeds it on their own site will show the same video, with the same ads and watermark (revenue goes to the original video creator). And all click backs on the video go to the original site (whereas with YouTube all click backs go the original YouTube site).

iTV, which is due for release early next year priced $299, will allow users to watch content stored on their PC on their home television. Microsoft: ‘We Are watching You Google’

Wednesday, August 30th, 2006

Maybe it was back in 1999 when Google took its Web site out of beta.

Or maybe it was in 2002, when the Mountain View, Calif.-based search giant launched the Google Search Appliance.

Or perhaps it was when Google launched Gmail in 2004.

If it’s none of the above, then surely, Google officially threw Microsoft the gauntlet this week when it announced Google Apps for Your Domain.

“We are very serious and committed to the enterprise space,” noted Matt Glotzbach, head of enterprise products at Google. [read more]

Microsoft Responds to Google with Online Apps Bundle…

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Microsoft is understood to have invited beta testers to try out a new product offering a series of online applications in a single bundle.

News of the forthcoming Windows Live Essentials has leaked onto the web via independent blogs. A post on the ActiveWin.com website apparently quotes a Microsoft e-mail inviting people to apply to beta test the new product.

It describes Windows Live Essentials as a way to get the bundle of Windows Live online services - e-mail, instant messaging and security – as a single, simple download. Comments added by readers compare the product to the Google Pack bundle of free software.

The product also includes a Windows Live Dashboard, offering a view of the services the user already has and any new services available.

The emerging product looks set to step up rivalry with Google, which this week launched a beta of its new Apps for Your Domain service, adding free productivity applications – including instant messaging, a calendar application and website design software – to its hosted domain service.
