I first heard of this book over on twitter. Random tweeters were quoting this book and letting us all know how good it is. Every day it was something new from several photographers who were reading the book. It really caught my interest, I was telling myself that I have to read this book. It even became a top trend for a couple hours on twitter.

I just received the ever so popular Radiopopper JRx transmitter & 2 receivers for Christmas… thanks to my ever so loving wife Judy. <3
Last night I tested out 1 light with stofen at a Xmas party thrown by a good friend of the family and I’ve got to tell you, no matter the distance or the location I was taking that 1 strobe to I was guaranteed a no miss!
Anyways, I’m going to take out the new goods (Radiopoppers) out for some test shots during the weekend and I will be writing my opinion on them here on the blog.
I’m so stoked about this because I’ve been using Infinity Gadgets Cactus Transmitter & Receivers for a while now. With special mods done on both Trans. & Recv. I’ve gotten really cool results just as long that in within the range. I’ve tested up to 100 feet but no further. Infinity Gadget makes a great product for starters, really affordable and it does the job just as long as your within the range. I’ll be posting more later on the Infinity Gadgets. Have a great weekend and Happy Holidays.

I just received the book everyone’s been talking about on the web – “VisionMongers – By: David DuChemin”.
I got to tell you that as far as I am on this book at this moment I’m totally blown away with the creative ways David has pointed out that we’ve all ignored. I’m just writing a brief note here to let you know that this is a very inspirational book for Photographers that want to expand and actually make this their life, their business.
I’ll be posting a review once I’m done reading it. Stay tuned for the review. I’m so stoked, I’m totally approaching new ways for my clients on 2010. I’ll be filling you in later. In the meantime, enjoy the Holiday’s a cherish all the time you have over this wonderful weekend with your loved ones.
Happy Holidays from Jay, Judy, Daniela and Aron – JayRodphotos.com
P.S. – While your at it and still surfing the net, check out David DuChemins Blog for creative insights and pretty interesting photo techniques also.

I am one to encourage others to go and do what they like. Especially if it’s a business plan they know they can execute with no worries and have clients that are happy of the outcome!
My wife Judy has decided to open up a blog and show the public what she can do when its time to party. Her goal is to give the party host extra time to do more important things behind the scene and still have the party go on as planned. On top of all that she has a large resource for all party needs.
On board Judy has caterers and cooks, limousine drivers, photographers, special needs assistants, servants and many more!
• Sweet 16′s Parties
• Wedding Events
• Engagement Parties
• Corporate Events
• Anniversary Gatherings
… and much, much more!
Go and check out her blog… I for one will be looking at her postings everyday, with today’s economy Judy is offering affordable prices for the party people of the Tri-State Area. >>> Party Planning NYC Blog <–
BTW: Make sure you follow her blog via Google

Every time I pick up the camera I am learning. My business partner recently purchased two SB-900’s and was going on and on about Nikon’s Creative Lighting System (CLS) and how cool it was. I was thinking to myself “Look, let’s just get some Pocket Wizards and be done with it.” Boy, was I wrong.

Opening up the New Year of 2009 I will like to wish everyone that comes here to B4P a Happy and Safe New Year, may all your resolutions come easy and clean
My first goodie here up for review is a new toy I received known as the LastoLite EZYBox for Off Camera Flashes. Have to order this off Camera Flash has helped me allot. Considering that I don’t travel with most of my lighting equipment to basic shoots having the EZYBox has worked wonders for me along with my 5-in-1 Reflector by Westcott.
The product quality is excellent! Especially with my Canon 580EX ii Speedlight.
It produces soft light as promised. The only problem is that it is quite small to be used for full portrait body shots or for wider portrait shots in a single click. You would obviously need another box or a larger one to get the fill you desire. The thing I like of this product is that it’s so light, so easy to travel with…fold, place in its bag and go, that is all it takes. (more…)

Okay, about 3 maybe 4 weeks ago I received a CD in the mail from the Alien Skin’s Lab introducing to me the latest release of their new version of Exposure…Exposure 2. I have never got to look into Exposure 1 in the past, but I have done some reviews on some previous releases of Alien Skin’s Software.
This new piece of software really caught my attention once I installed it. Simply because I get true dynamic finished looks at a touch of a button. Exposure 2 is a plug-in (naturally), it is run from within Photoshop’s filter menu and is started in either color or black and white mode which is a smart move from the guys/gals over at Alien Skin’s Lab.
Alien Skin’s Exposure 2 is compatible with Adobe Photoshop CS2 & CS3 which is great for the many people who haven’t gotten the upgrade. Installation is simple, just slip in the disk, click and go. Of course registration is required but after all that you are on your way on to getting great photography finishes once installed.
