Flash LogoRecently I was looking at the new Madden 07 for Xbox 360. Well I was quickly informed that I would probably not want to mess with it… and here is the reason why.

EA’s new Privacy Policy anonymously creates an online account to track you, but oh it gets better… with your “anonymous” account you also give up your ip address which can simply be linked to a database of information, that would have search history, purchases and even credit card information. In a nutshell it basically comes down to how important is the game and is it worth your privacy?

I strongly suggest you take the time to write the FTC or at the very least boycott EA until they fix this bull. You can read the complete Slashdot story here.

Washington Post announces - "BLOGROLL"

Friday, August 18th, 2006

I noticed this link over at one of the blogs I check out daily “Washington.com - Blogroll” . Washington Post is helping a line of advertisers look for advertising space on blogs. Creating a network of bloggers to be randomly selected according to interest, topic and also popularity (they didn’t mention that but we all know it’s about PR’s).

They are putting together a network of bloggers to participate in the list for advertising space. Marketers can browse bloggers in the network and Washington Post sales team will sell ads for you, for now they seem to be looking for blogs with topics of “Technology, Business, Health, Automotive and Travel” - once they get rolling I’m sure they’ll be an expansion in topics.

The only way to get in is by invitation, so don’t waste any time! Go sign up, there’s nothing to lose…you never know, you can be one of the lucky ones.

Indesign CS2 Tip - Clear your table of Extra Cells

Adobe InDesign CS2 Tip—Clear Your Table of Extra Cells

One of my advertising clients supplies price listings of sale items in an Excel file which I Place as a Table in my InDesign layout. It’s almost inevitable that the Table will have an extra Column or two as well as some extra Rows at the end. So before I start formatting, I make a clean sweep of the extra unneeded Cells.

With the Type tool active, move your mouse up toward the top of the first empty Cell at the top of the first empty Column until you get a heavy down arrow. Then click-and-drag to the right to select all of the empty Columns. To delete them, go to Table>Delete>Column. Next, select any extra Rows at the bottom of the Table by moving your cursor to the first empty Cell on the left of the first empty Row of the Table until you get a heavy arrow pointing into the Row. Click-and-drag down the empty Table Rows all the way to the bottom of the Table. To delete the Rows, go to Table>Delete>Row. After this quick Cell cleanup, you’re ready to format.
