I recently ordered an ABR800 and found another reason to love Alien Bees… their boxes make for great DIY lightboxes! I was reading a recent blog on how to create your own macro studio and thought, why not actually try it? So I did. (more…)
What’s on your agenda for the week…
What do you need to finish up or start up?
What kind of deadlines are you looking to meet?
what are you plans for this week after their done?
A little Raving and Ranting here on B4P today. Just let it all out, lets see how good it can make us feel
I enjoy stumbling on the net looking to see how can I increase the look(s) on my photography, as do others. While looking online it tends to get expensive, the more we look the more expensive it seems to get. Then we all say to ourselves “there’s got to be a better/cheaper way for this”… and there is, the “Do It Yourself” way. Many of you might say “naaaa” and the others will say…okay, I can save a whole lot of cash just by building it myself.
I now just got into the DIY simply because I seen everywhere else. First its a lot of fun and secondly you can build all you need to your liking. It only involves time, and if you put it to good use you can have fun by being creative. the easiest parts are getting the tools and the materials. You can get just about everything from Home depot, Lowes and any fabric store like A.C.Moore or Joanne’s. A small percentage of the time it’ll involve power-tools, but hey, what man in this planet doesn’t have a drill or a electric screwdriver.
My first project was nothing to brag about. I took the liberty to make myself a snoot for my wireless strobes and a gobo to direct the lighting when needed. If your not the do it yourself type then you can purchase these items each online starting at about $24.99. – I made my both snoot and gobo for .99, found some velcro lying around at home and then “bada-bing” a snoot and a gobo made out of Foam Paper purchased at A.C. Moore’s. No power tools involved and now back to shooting.
What DIY stuff do you have?
What kind of material did it involve?
Power tools… yes or no?
What was the outcome of your DIY part and how often do you use it?
Many of us has stumped on the issue of the almighty Histogram. How to use it, how to read it and how to rely on it when taking pictures and correcting our colors on our graphics.
I came across a post while stumbling on how to clearly understand and read your Histogram properly. Check out the link and see how helpful this really is. I came across some stuff I was very curious about and some other stuff that clearly helped me understand the process even more.
