One Shot At A Time – Jack Daniels Photo Shoot

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

A buddy of mine opened up a bar in New York City and he told me that the first photo he would like to hang up would be something from me. A photo to compliment the area of the bar, basically something that came from the heart… and I was put to work :)

Okay, here’s the thing… I shot this in my very own living room and with the result like this I was happy to capture the bar-like feeling!

I normally carry my Canon with me just about everywhere I go. Along side I have my 580EX ii and my pocket wizard just in case I see a shot I’m determined to catch it, like any other photographer who carries his/her DSLR and decides at the last moment that this is the shot they want!

Zack Arias and his Miracle Shot with 1 Strobe….

Monday, April 13th, 2009

gpp_blog_final

I’ve seen some amazing stuff done with graphics and photography in my time but never did a group shot like this ever cross my mind and how Zack Arias composed it perfectly to the “T”.

Zack put together a number of photography guru’s together (McNally, Jarvis, Hobby and the rest) in a dark theater for a group shot. Thing is he didn’t shoot then all at once… he shot them individually with his camera on stage on a tri-pod and 1… yup you heard me “ ONLY 1 STROBE (Nikon SB-25)” for this shot! I would talk more about it but I’m so excited to go and try this out myself… for now here’s the link to Zack’s Post on the shot and feel free to leave a comment.
